Dietary organic zinc promotes growth, immune response and antioxidant capacity by modulating zinc signaling in juvenile Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei)

An 8-week feeding trial was conducted to evaluate effects of dietary organic zinc (zinc amino acid chelate) on growth performance, mineral bioaccumulation in whole body, hepatopancreas and carapace, innate immune response antioxidant capacity juvenile Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei. Five isonitrogenous isolipidic diets were formulated contain different levels 46.4 (basal diet), 65.5, 85.9, 108.4 130.6 mg kg?1. Dietary level significantly influenced feed utilization, with the lowest weight gain highest conversion ratio observed fed basal diet. The optimal requirement estimated be 104.8 kg-1 for shrimp. Shrimp diet containing kg?1 Zn had concentration but there no significant differences calcium or phosphorus tissues. increased activities lysozyme, alkaline phosphatase polyphenol oxidase hepatopancreas. supplemented higher activity Cu/Zn SOD lower content malondialdehyde expression toll, imd, lzm, proPO alp involved immunity sod related oxidation resistance up-regulated.
